Lab Technologist (All Areas)

The 1199 Health & Employment Center is actively seeking qualified candidates interested in working either Full-Time, Part-Time or Temporary positions at " New York Presbyterian Hospital " one of our member institutions in Upper Manhattan . We are currently seeking a Lab Technologist (All Areas).

Duties include but not limited to:

Laboratory technologists perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Technologists microscopically examine blood and other body fluids. They make cultures of body fluid and tissue samples, to determine the presence of bacteria, fungi, parasites, or other microorganisms. Technologists analyze samples for chemical content or a chemical reaction and determine concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels. They also type and cross match blood samples for transfusions.

Lab Technologist Job Qualifications :

Must have a Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology. Two (2) years laboratory experience preferred, certified as a Lab Technologist by ASCP, NCA, ASMT, etc. preferred. NYS License or acceptable documentation form NYS Education Department required.
